TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!! I am so blessed to have been given 38 yrs of life here on earth. I am honored that God has put Joel, John, Laura, and Emily in my home for up to 18 yrs! I am thankful that for the majority of my life, God has been in control, even at times when I did not want Him to be.

Well, I just wanted to say thank you to all who are so gracious to tell me that I DON"T EVEN LOOK 38! That kind of staement/compliment has always baffled me.

Really, what is a 38 yr old suppose to LOOK like? Am I really thankful, not to LOOK my age? Will it someday catch up to me? Well, however old I look I am confident that I feel young! Now don't get me wrong....I don't feel 18 or anything, but I can still skip from the Zellner Building to the Hardin Admin bldg and back..(when my 7 yr old begs me to..when she goes with me to make my department deposit) and I don't even feel like I am going to die!

Today as I ponder that thought...How old are you suppose to look at each age crossing, I can't help but remember someone who is very dear to me....Mike Veronin.

Mike recently passed away from this life here on earth a couple of weeks ago.
He was 78 yrs old. Now Mike used to get that whole "WOW you don't even look that old" comment from all the kids in the youth group.

Mike really did hold his age well!! All the kids thought he was 45 or 50!
God used and will continue to use Mike so MIGHTILY in UTURN Student Ministry!
I choose the words pass from this life delibretly, because I am a firm believer that you NEVER lose someone you love, when you know where to find them!

I know without a shadow of doubt, where to find Mike Veronin! His life will always be a life reflecting God's amazing love, grace, passion, and extrodinary ability to believe in every person he came in contact with!


No today is not Mike's birthday...just mine, but I am inspired by the thought of the way he lived his life the last 8 yrs, that I knew him. Honored by our by our Lord, because he held our Lord up with the highest honor!

May we all be granted the gift of unconditional passion from our Lord for our birthdays, that we might have even a glimmer of what it feels like to be honored by the one we should hold in highest honor!


I pray that we all have a blessed week living in the presence of the Lord.

Remember today is a gift from God, don't forget to unwrap it!
