I am ALWAYS soooo perplexed by friendships....the way they come and go....the way some last FOREVER...and the way SOME just truly were NEVER meant to be! I KNOW they are IMPORTANT because JESUS said so!!!
John 15:12-14 " My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command"
Of course HE is the ULTIMATE friend!!! I sooo treasure that gift!!! ESPECIALLY right now in this 5th year friendship drought. I honestly get sooo overwhelmed by the fact that God has NOT granted me a dear friend here in this AREA in the 5 years that I have been here....
Don't get me wrong...I have friends...just not like the ones I long for...the deep friendship I have with some AMAZING people in other towns far away :o) I KNOW God has someone SPECIAL appointed for me... in HIS time....I continue to pray for my heart to be ALERT for WHO it is....
until then...He will be my portion...my supply!

Physical AND Spiritual blessing
In studying for the lesson this week I am in AWE of God's divine timing for this particular lesson! Mark 8:22-38 it is truly MORE than a blind man seeing physically...I believe God wants us to see it is sooo much more about him seeing Spiritually!!! A lesson on FAITH!!!! WOW!!! sooo much of what is needed RIGHT now for sooooo many INCLUDING me!!!
We need to be reminded DAILY that we have a war raging inside of us FLESH against SPIRIT!!! As humans we want the things that satisfies our flesh...people HEALED for here on earth...other earthly requests that we want ...answered NOW...when there is sooo much more of an opportunity of our Spiritual being to receive a blessing!
The fleshly desires TEMPORARILY satisfy...while Spiritual desires are the beautiful treasures that ETERNALLY satisfy! When we TRULY realize Jesus doesn’t always work the same way, that multitudes DO NOT determine the outcome of the answered prayer and that God is not forced to act according to our expectations... BECAUSE He DID do it a different way. We will gain the full measure of His abundant life riches!
We need to dig in: Study the revelations of God to us — scripture and events. Utilize this as an opportunity to allow your heart, soul & mind to become one!
Jesus asks... "Are your hearts hardened?” we ned to analyze the state of our heart. If we are not excited, if we do not feel a response of joy, it is because the mind has grasped it but the heart & soul has not.
Then Jesus says: “Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear?” Do not just look at the events you are seeing and think that is all there is to it. It is a parable, a parallel to something deeper and more important, concerning your spirit. As these men were being fed by the loaves and the fishes, he was saying to them,(last weeks lesson) “Don’t think of this merely as a way of getting a good, quick, free meal. We need to Understand that He is the source for everything in life!!!
“Do you not remember?” We need to look back at what has happened and recognize that God has been at work in our life. What is happening right now is not just an accident. It is divinely part of a bigger plan.
There is a war raging inside of us...FLESH VS SPIRIT...Don't step up on the battlefield unprepared!!! suit up with your Spiritual weapons...which first starts with your heart,soul & mind!
2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Lord I pray against the enemy and his attempts to discourage-distract & to defeat us through his destructible behavior! Lord help us to remember that WE HAVE AUTHORITY OVER him!!! He has NO control or victory! Lord I pray that we REFUSE to wear the yoke of fear-defeat-discouragement-fleshly desires- earthly rewards& request to be answered...Lord may we truly BELIEVE that Your yoke is light and we trade with YOU NOW!!!
You are a SOVEREIGN HOLY KING who adores us and delights in & over us! May THAT bring us the SPIRITUAL SATISFACTION You hope for us! In the AMAZINGLY MATCHLESS name of JESUS I pray...AMEN AMEN AMEN

BIG!!!
okay...soooo WOW!!!Remember how when you were little and things seem to be HUGE...then when you grow up and go back to whatever it was.... cars, desks, school classroom..etc...and it looks teenie tiny to you NOW...and in all REALITY it really NEVER changed it's size...it was JUST our perspective( on some things we actually DO grow...I get that)...WELL...several times today God was REALLY BIG to me...and then I realized...HE ALWAYS is....so I pray that HE will bless me with a DYNAMICALLY SPIRITUAL PERSPECTIVE to ALWAYS see HIS BIGNESS!!!!

In seeking a WORD from God ...
I was flipping through a little devotional book and the word strength caught my eye...so here is the entry I read....Isaiah 30:15 "In quietness and confidence shall be your strength."
God never forgets anything He promises. That's right...never. God's agenda continues to unfold right on schedule, even when there is not a shred of evidence that He remembers. Even when the most extreme events transpire and "life just doesn't seem fair", God is there, carrying out His providential plan exactly as He pre-arranged it. He keeps His Word! ~ Charles R. Swindoll

AND SO IT BEGINS......
We got our FIRST Christmas card in the mail Thursday!!! YAAAAY!!! I love it!!!!The Macre's make it to our front door before anyone else!
Julie...I loved the card!!! Sooooo adorable!We miss you guys toooooooooooooo!!! What a blesing to be on a journey knowing that God has WITHOUT A SHADOW OF DOUBT led every step of it!

I love the way he loves me!
My husband NEVER ceases to amaze me! (in the good way...mostly) He is Godly, romantic, charming, hilarious, considerate, unselfish, understanding, PATIENT, fun, both predictable and unpredictable! As a husband, father, disciple, friend etc...I can go on and on and on...But I have to get Emily up and get us all ready for the day, so I won't...
Anywhoooo There are lots and lots of things and ways that my husband shows his love for me that makes my heart leap with delight! Last night in our family prayer time, when it was his turn...he pleaded for God to answer his wife's prayer...This isn't the first time he has begged God for this request...it's just that in this season I am in...the weariness of specific prayers that haven't seemed to be answered yet...
The passion, and amazing love from his heart through his voice, pleading for my hearts desire to be fulfilled...just makes my heart and soul dance!
Thank You Lord for blessing me beyond comprehension with a man that loves me just a little less than he loves You! Thank You for always providing me with a refreshing cool drink in a dry and parched land. I am anointed by Your precious Grace and Mercy! I am blessed!

Friendship in spiritual formation
Christian friendship is an experience of support, accountability, acceptance, safety, love, and genuine care/concern. When these conditions are present, spiritual growth and transformation become possible.
I believe this kind of friendship requires an intentional investment of valuable time and energy to cultivate and maintain special friendships. I'm sure some of you have seen the movie "Beaches" A love story ... the kind of love that perseveres despite terrible odds, a love that speaks the truth even when it hurts!
Now, in our society we don't call that love. we call it friendship. Very often we assume friendship to be inferior to romantic love...shallower, less meaningful. yet friendship by Gods design is suppose to go deeper than romance, for it's not based on beauty, passion, or physical intimacy...but on the solid foundation of reality!
I believe friendships are undervalued in our society...people are content with acquaintances, come and go Bible studies, work friends(only at the office) warmly greeting people on Sunday morning, short term project partners etc... Now of course you can't be friends with everyone... but how many friends do you have...you know like the ones that you can call at 4 am, or that you pray intimately with, hold you accountable, or tell them a personal struggle you are battling with? How many friends are you this for...??
Jesus is the ultimate friend! The one John 15:13 speaks of..."greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" It is because of that friendship, I am blessed with AMAZING friendships in my life!
I have a joy filled heart for the friends I have in California, Abilene, all over the United States, and now here in the area I live! The Bible study I am in now...just ended our 9 week journey on "Becoming a Woman of Influence" by Carol Kent. There were days that when the study itself didn't kick my be-hiney... my two friends Paige and Stephanie would!
It has been a seemingly long journey finding true friendship here since leaving California, then Abilene...don't get me wrong..I have several friends here...but, Paige and Stephanie have blessed me with a valuable spiritual growth and transformation! It has been so amazing to see all of us accomplish several little feats in our lives, as well as praise the Lord together!
Thank you Paige and Stephanie for sticking with our study, even when it quickly dwindled down to just us three! I have been blessed by an experience of support, accountability, acceptance, safety, love, and genuine care/concern for me and my lifes' journey! I pray I have been the same for you guys! I am proud of who we are and whose we belong to!
What an incredible gift...to walk, run, crawl, laugh, cry, desperately seek Gods will, shout for joy, yell at injustice, pray, sit in silence, meditate on Gods Word, laugh some more, delight in our change, call on the Holy Spirit, sometimes stubbornly accept constructive criticism, praise the Lord and so so so much more together with you two!
Thank you for intentionally investing valuable time and energy in helping me be cultivated into the woman God has designed me to be! I love you Paige and Stephanie! I dedicate "More Than You'll Ever Know" by Watermark to you guys!

2008!!!!!
WOW!!! it's HERE!!!! What an AMAZING gift! Well, I can honestly say that while our family was all split up...This years/last years transition was the BEST New Years I have ever experienced! We went over to the Miller's along with their dear friends GiGi - husband Mark & 3 kiddos, and the Waldron's. We ate, laughed, Played games, ate some more...laughed laughed laughed!
Then Joel, Alan, and I shot out quick style to make it home before midnight (arriving aprox. 11:57) so we could pray out the old year and pray in the new year. I have to say that it truly was such a powerful experience! WOW! The Holy Spirit just filled the house! A really cool thing was knowing Che' and Lindsey Hendrix were praying at the SAME time! (GOOSE BUMPS)
John brought in the new year quietly. He is preparing for his NEW JOB!!!! He officially starts tomorrow at Gateway Church in South Lake! He has been added to their IT team :) Can I just tell you.....I AM SOOOO OUTRAGEOUSLY EXCITED!!!! YAAAY!!! He is thrilled and excited as well :)
Laura babysat for/with a friend then went to a dear dear friends house for a ZANY night of FUN! I love love love her PRECIOUS friends at Faith Christian! God has blessed her with some DYNAMIC friendships. Her whole senior class has a whimsy personality! I will miss seeing them when they all graduate and scatter to various colleges! But am soooo pumped for Laura going to ACU in less than 7 MONTHS !!! :0
I am sooo excited because she will re-join AMAZING friends there in Abilene :) ANOTHER bunch of ZANY whimsy friends she went to school and church with when we lived there. They are just all so goofy and NUTTY NUTS! She is EXTREMELY ANXIOUS as well and CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Emily stayed the night at the Miller's....yet another ZANY WHIMSY BUNCH! LOVE LOVE LOVE those peeps! Didn't see her or Laura till after 3pm today! CRAZY! But when I did boy OH boy...did they fill me in on all the crazy antics they experienced!
We are so so so so BLESSED! Thank you Lord for they safety of our family at what can be such a DANGEROUS time! There were many many more people I wish we could have been together with praying out the old and praying in the new year with!
I pray a BLESSED, JOY-FILLED New Year for all of you! I pray especially for you to be prepared to receive the FULL MEASURE of His POWERFUL Blessings! I pray you understand the depth of God's love and what He has planned for you as I have been praying for our family! Blessed Joy-Filled New Year
My New Years Resolution?......
To give EVERY ounce of love in my heart AWAY! Especially to those who for me...are hardest to love....
I pray that God will grant you...fulfilment in your New Years resolution(s)
Mark 11: 22-25(the Message) Jesus was matter-of-fact: "Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, 'Go jump in the lake'—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it's as good as done. That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it's not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins."

well it's that time.....
YAAY!!!! I love receiving Christmas cards/letters!!! I am always excited to see who's will be the first card we get! !!So far...we haven't gotten any yet.... Of course...we haven't sent one! Every year we say okay let's do this Christmas card/letter thing... then inevitably something comes up where all of us can't be at the same place the same time for the photo!!!
Plus every year I like to keep them up on the front door till like February or March...Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! My family thinks I am crazy!!! But I just love seeing all the faces...all the time. Some are loved ones far off, but even the ones that we go to church together with....still don't always see each other plus the fact of busy busy busy schedules :(
Okay so anywhoo..I am anticipating with jolly merriment for them to start arriving!!! Sooo, who's will it be? Uhh, just in case you share the same enthusiasm...don't hold your breath for ours!!! I mean I really really hope we will do one..but...let's be honest folks!!! NO ONE has received one from us...like...EVER! There is no excuse though for not doing a letter...including the fact that Joel is a pretty creative writer! (we're losers)

I love my Bible study group they are NUT-TTTY! by the way girls, I have a horrible scratch(actually 2) over my right eye from hitting my face on my straw last night! ha ha ha ha
I truly look forward to Tuesday nights!!!

Whoo Hoo!.....pretty sure I found it...
Okay, so I'm pretty sure I found it sort of....
I had to piece some recipes together, but I think it's gonna work that is....If I actually follow the DIRECTIONS!!!!
So here's the creamy vanilla fudge recipe:
2 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 5oz. can evaporated milk 2c. marshmallow creme 8oz Nestle's Alpine White candy bar( couldn't find it, so used white choc morsels had to measure/weigh on a food scale and all that malarky) 3/4 c. chopped pecans (I omitted) and 1tsp vanilla
Line 9 inch square or 9x13 inch pan with foil making sure foil extends over sides of pan; butter foil In large saucepan, combine sugar, butter milk. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 min. over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients, stirring until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Cool to room temperature. refrigerate until firm.
Remove fudge from pan by lifting foil; remove foil from fudge, Store in fridge.
OKAY so here's what went wrong tonight...First off going to Walmart 2 days before Thanksgiving is nerve racking...starting fudge at 9pm isn't any smarter THEN when you just look at the ingredients and start adding them ALL into the pot without following instructions IS INSANE!!!.UGGGHHH!! MAN!!!! I only had what I needed to make one batch so I SURE couldn't start over!
Anywhooo needless to say there is a distinct reason they only want you to mix first three ingredients...bring to boil...remove from heat....THEN add remaning ingredients!!! Probably wouldn't have to try to get it firm in the FREEZER!!! It is 10:43 AND it's still not firm!!!!
But I do have to say the chewy caramel praline turned out EXACT!!!! I just took a soft caramel candy recipe added chopped walnuts(softer than pecans) and presto!
That recipe is as follows:

I felt so sheepish when I got to go through the 20 items or less line while others were pushing mountain high buggy's around) OKAY....continuing with ingredients... 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk 1 c. light corn syrup pinch of salt and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Now I DID follow these instructions WAY better...even though... I added the vanilla in w/everything when I was SUPPOSE to add in after comes to a boil, then remove from heat...ADD vanilla. But it still turned out! YAAAY!!!
The final product?...not sure!!! I'm afraid to go check...I fear it will confirm I wasted good stuff! YES!!! There is a lesson for me AS USUAL!!!! BE DILIGENT!!! I will try to remake this when I get home from Houston!

Inventions....
I have to say... I am absolutely grateful and intrigued by whom ever invented the treadmill! Can I just say WOW!!! Ya know...I used to be impressed with the microwave...thinking it "helped" you conquer more things...you know giving you extra time to do more "quality things" now I believe it just promotes laziness and poor quality of time & food for your family! (believe me I have been guilty...lets say...a time or two)I have vowed a while back to only use it to heat up leftovers and such...and not for preparing a meal for our family...
Anyways... back to the treadmill. This morning I (this is a journal right?) woke up to my alarm of 5:15 so I could run 2 miles, shower, read the Bible, pray, get Emily up, eat, get ready for work, drop Emily off, go to work..work... pick up Emily...
Well, I decided to not get up resetting the alarm for 6:15 convincing myself I would run after I get Emily. Well...I TRIED to go back to sleep...refusing to get up! It was awful! I finally started to doze off when that crazy alarm went back off!!! UGGGHH!
I didn't shower, (no need...I didn't run)but did do all the other things. PLUS...I forgot to take meat out of the freezer :( UGGGHHH! AGAIN!!! Anyways so I was craving baked sweet potatoes. Emily and I ran to Tom Thumb. We ended up having grilled chicken (pre grilled,diced & packaged but..w/out preservatives( probably still not good for us...but...I did sautee it in Vinny's olive oil dip YUMMY!) salad (5 lettuce's pre-bagged)w/homemade buttermilk ranch(the packet but, w/regular milk) and yummy baked sweet potatoes. (other than the sweet potatoes, I probably should of just went ahead and microwaved a meal!)
I decided to redeem myself and make homemade pumpkin muffins.(nothing packaged) Okay...not enough oil, so we walked down to the Valentine's and borrowed some. Got in some catch up time with our lives. Lauren came back with us to hang out with Emily for a while.
I finished making the batter and realized OH CRUD!!! I hadn't ran yet!!! UUGGGHHH! AGAIN! Well, I poured up the batter in the muffin tins. Ran 2 miles...kind of slow...22min HEY! at least I'm trying! anyways...hurried and put muffins in for 15 min get back on treadmill and ran one more mile. Finished making all the other muffins walked Lauren home, and listened to Emily read while posting on my blog. WHEW!!! Soooo ya see without the great invention of the treadmill I could never have done all these things! I am going to get in the shower and go to bed!
So..forget you microwave(until I want popcorn) the treadmill has just surpassed you!
Goodnight and I pray you have a a strong ending to your week! If not...don't give up!
Lamentations 3:22-24 tells us...Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."
May we be encouraged by His sweet promises :)

journel entry 5,001 (just kidding)
Well, this is the end of day 3 of Emily being at camp :( I miss her!!! Ya know...kids are soooo funny! I teach 4th and 5th on Wed. nights at church. They were asking me where Emily was, and I told them at camp. In Cali, when John and Laura went they called it "Outdoor Education" They loved it!
So.. our class (all girls)talked about camp how much fun it is and the coolest thing about camp.. etc... I asked jokingly in one of those pitiful voices with a sad face... "Do you guys think she will remember me"? THEY WERE SOOO PRECIOUS!! They seriously were like reassuring me that she would! Anna's all..."Of course she will..She can't forget you!" With that DUH! look on her face.
I love them to stinkin pieces! I wish I could keep them FOREVER!
I have a dear dear dear friend Annie Lapoint (http://annielapoint.com/) (She is a PHENOMENAL artist...and I blogged about her precious sister Jodi a while back) anyways...she told me that I was soooo cute that she wished she could shrink me and carry me around in her purse forever, then take me out whenever she wanted..she made gestures with her hands like if you had a Barbie doll all dancing around (I'll show you in person sometime)
She used to also say she and her family could live with us on an island forever...ANYWAYS...from that point on, I too use that saying for people I wish I could shrink and keep with me forever! I kind of shortened it to "GET IN MY PURSE!" ha ha ha Plus our family adopted the island thingy and keep adding people to join us!
Emily wants to invite a couple of those snuggly little ol' ladies at Walmart :) However...they look at us very perplexed when we say "Get in the purse!" :)
Soooo...anyways Emily comes home TOMORROW!!! I know she has had a blast!!! I am excited to hear all about it! Plus also Laura will be leaving for camp this Sunday. She has a school retreat. She also is very excited and can't wait! She and a couple of her friends are going shopping tomorrow to buy some fun things for their cabin groups! I am sooo excited that they are excited! I will miss her too!
Okay, well...gotta go! I hope you all have a FROLICKING FRIDAY :)

Yippee for my wonderful hubby fixing my Blog! Now I can post!! :)
Well, another school year has started. Bitter sweet really.... I love my kiddos home, yet I also love them being filled with knowledge.
Laura is a BIG senior this year :0 Wow! So crazy to think about! They had a Boo Hoo breakfast for all senior moms and kindergarten moms at her school the first day. Yes...there was some
boo hooing! Some were tears of sadness while others were tears of joy! It was a lovely breakfast and I was blessed to be invited. The real tears came when one of Laura's friends mom shared her story of her picture perfect world flipping COMPLETELY upside down. The wisdom in her knowing God is carrying her and the kiddos through this absolute nightmare was ripping my heart to pieces as she inspired me.
Emily is a BIG 5th grader! She has three teachers this year. (not including the music, art, &P.E. teachers) I had a boo hoo spell at her school as well. Oh, not for the usual emotional tears of your little one growing up...nope! I broke down and bawled like a baby cause I didn't get the two AMAZING moms in our class this year! ( I only cried with Joel, Ems did not see me)
Pam and Dawn were the two that stepped up and took me in from day one of our first days here in Trophy Club, and have been a blessing every since! We had a wonderful room mom team! Pam assured me that we would still team up and bless our teachers. (our kiddos all were divided up into three classes) So we will still be together....just not together :(
Our girls are very enthusiastic about this school year and have expressed their joy many times already. They love their teachers and their classmates :) I pray all of you out there are experiencing the same blessing!
Laura was blessed this past weekend with the gift of a NEW car (new to her) It is a cute zippy little red Pontiac Sunfire. Totally fits her zippy personality :) Emily goes to outdoor Ed next week :0 Oh, my!!! That will be a little unnerving for me! BUT...I know God will be Faithful with peace for my heart...as always!

WOW!
I CAN"T EVEN BELIEVE IT MYSELF! I watched the Masters (golf..in case you don't know) this afternoon with my husband :) He says he loves me more and more everyday! Anywhoo...This guy Zach Johnson (pictured below) won. They have his personal info listed below. Well, all but what He publicly professed on camera today.(I'm sure it was not the first time he has or will be the last time he does proclaim)
THE MOST amazing thing about watching the Masters for me today(my first time) was to hear Zach Johnson profess Jesus his Savior is who he owed everything to! It was so remarkable to hear those words not even just once but I think 2 or 3 times! That was such a blessing to my soul and made an ALREADY SPECIAL DAY EVEN MORE SPECIAL!
I hope we all had a Spiritual awakening to the POWERFUL blessing of our SAVIOR'S RESURRECTION! Especially to have the desire to so truly BELIEVE in THE MIRACLE that we will live as CHANGED people! That it will make a difference in the way we live in ALL areas of our lives! May we be filled with the compelling urge to tell everyone of the unstoppable, uncontainable, unconditional and unshakable love of God, that He would send His only Son to save us from our sins.

THE MOST amazing thing about watching the Masters for me today(my first time) was to hear Zach Johnson profess Jesus his Savior is who he owed everything to! It was so remarkable to hear those words not even just once but I think 2 or 3 times! That was such a blessing to my soul and made an ALREADY SPECIAL DAY EVEN MORE SPECIAL!
I hope we all had a Spiritual awakening to the POWERFUL blessing of our SAVIOR'S RESURRECTION! Especially to have the desire to so truly BELIEVE in THE MIRACLE that we will live as CHANGED people! That it will make a difference in the way we live in ALL areas of our lives! May we be filled with the compelling urge to tell everyone of the unstoppable, uncontainable, unconditional and unshakable love of God, that He would send His only Son to save us from our sins.
